Fishing in Rocky Point During Spring Break
March 26, 2008
Spring break in Rocky Point isn’t just about drinking all day and night and doing some things you may regret later. There are a lot of other fun things to do in Rocky Point that don’t involve drinking. For example, one time I was there, we decided to go deep-sea fishing. Noone whom I was with had gone fishing in the sea before, so we decided to try it, which in the end was a good choice because it turned-out to be an interesting experience and we caught a lot of fish. Actually, I was the one who caught the most-it must have been beginner’s luck because I had never fished before in my life. It was early in the morning and a local fisherman convinced us to take us fishing with him (for a small fee, of course). He took us out into the sea in a small boat and gave us some basic instruction on how to release the fishing rod, and how to pull-it-up when a fish was hooked. It was exciting pulling-out fish after fish. The guy even cut-up all the fish for us, and put in a bag so we could take it with us. We took it back to the place we were staying at, bought some vegetables and limes, and made some fresh fish ceviche. It was one of the best ceviche I’ve ever had. Maybe because it was all self-made from scratch with fish we caught with our own hands. : )
